Meet Janie Spencer-Bellet

 

Raised poor with a Native American parent, I bring an alternative, down-to-earth centered approach to my work.

While I count my life experiences as more important, I do have a Master’s degree in the sociology of emotions from the University of California. 

Since 1979,I have been leading workshops, conferences and support groups, based on several methods of listening (Re-evaluation co-counseling Non-violent communication, Effective Parenting, etc.) and therapies (Gestalt, Primal, etc.). I’m a certified teacher of the active parenting called Aware Parenting. I have been welcomed as a conference speaker in Europe and Japan as well as the U.S.

Perhaps most importantly, I am a mother myself. I home educated my daughter through high school.   I know that parenting and educating are the most important challenges facing individuals and society as a whole today.

I created Families Naturally to help families go green, and lead more balanced family lives through effective efficiency and focus on real values.

Besides parents, teachers and others who work with small children, I train nannies, midwives, and psychologists.
